Everybody shops for patio furniture in April, which is exactly why April is the worst time to buy it.
Right now is better. The calendar is working in your favor, retailers are clearing outdoor stock to make room for what comes next, and that clearing is what fills our trucks.
We buy name-brand overstock and major retailer returns by the truckload and sell at 30 to 50 percent of retail. On outdoor pieces the gap is often wider, because nobody in the supply chain wants to store a patio set through the cold months.
What we get
Conversation sets, meaning a sofa, a chair or two, and a low table. Outdoor dining tables with chairs. Wicker and resin wicker chairs. Metal frame seating. Chaise lounges. Side tables and fire table style pieces when they come through.
Cushions are usually included with the sets. We say so if they are not.

Be honest about supply
Outdoor is not a category we can promise year round. It arrives in waves. When a load carries outdoor, we have a lot of it at once. When it does not, the aisle is thin.
So call or message before you drive over for patio specifically. We will tell you straight whether it is worth the trip today. That is a better answer than getting you here and disappointing you.
If you are coming for a sectional or a dresser anyway, walk the outdoor aisle while you are here.
Why buying now beats buying in spring
Two reasons, and both of them are money.
The first is availability of discounted stock. Outdoor liquidates hardest in the back half of the year. What we pay for it drops, and what you pay drops with it.
The second is competition. In April every household in the Valley decides at once that this is the year they fix the deck. In August almost nobody is looking. Same furniture, a fraction of the buyers, better price.
You get a few weeks of use out of it this fall and a full spring next year. Store it in a shed or throw a cover over it and you are done.
What to check before you buy
Sit in it. Outdoor seating is the category where cheap construction hides best under a nice cushion.
Look at the frame material. Powder coated metal and quality resin wicker both hold up outside in Virginia. Untreated raw wood does not, not without work you probably will not do.
Check the cushions for the zipper and the fabric feel. Outdoor fabric is stiffer than indoor for a reason, and it sheds water. Soft and plush usually means somebody put an indoor cushion on an outdoor frame.
Pick a chair up. Furniture light enough to blow across your yard in a summer storm is furniture you will be chasing.
Flaws are tagged
Same rule as everywhere else on our floor. A scuff on a frame, a scratch in a powder coat, a faded spot on a cushion. We mark it and we drop the price.
Outdoor furniture is going to live outside. It is going to get weathered, rained on and pollinated. A cosmetic mark on a patio chair is worth less worry than on almost anything else we sell, and it buys you a real discount.
We tell you about every flaw before you pay.
Getting it home
Most outdoor sets ride flat and load easy. Cushions go in the back seat.
Bring a truck. Our crew helps you load. If a set is still boxed on a pallet, it will fit a pickup bed with room to spare.
If you cannot haul it, ask about delivery when you are paying. We can usually arrange it locally.
Every purchase supports recovery at Shenandoah Valley Teen Challenge.
Come see what is out there
Message us first if patio is the only reason you are driving over, and we will tell you honestly what is on hand. Otherwise walk the Harrisonburg warehouse floor at 60 E Rock St and check the outdoor aisle while you are in the building. If you want the background on pricing, read how truckload pricing works.
